GZA Congratulates Beacon Interfaith Housing on their ReScape Award

Congratulations to Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, which has won a Minnesota Brownfields Community Impact ReScape Award for their . An Ojibwe word meaning “let’s walk together,� Bimosedaa was a remodeling of the historic Rockler Fur Building created in collaboration with Avivo and Red Lake Nation to offer culturally relevant onsite services and 48 deeply affordable apartment homes in downtown Minneapolis, affordable to households with incomes at or below 30% of the Median Family Income (MFI) in the Minneapolis metropolitan statistical area (MSA). 

The on-site support services are tailored to members of the Native community who have moved out of homelessness.

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is proud to have had a small role in the project by providing building services (lead and asbestos), due diligence (Phase I ESAs), and remediation services (Phase II sampling and testing and management of the installation of a vapor mitigation system). Watson-Forsberg Co. was the general contractor who installed the vapor mitigation system and lead the remodel.
