CTDEEP Opens Climate Resilience Grant Program To Applications

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has announced it has opened its  to applications.

The program is designed to fund the design of nature-based solutions, flood protection, cooling strategies for addressing extreme heat, erosion control systems, gray infrastructure, and non-structural solutions for community assets and critical facilities. Projects will be selected in part to help municipalities develop a climate resiliency project pipeline enabling you to pursue additional federal resiliency grants for construction and implementation, which received record levels of funding under the IIJA and IRA . There are no matching funds requirements, and funding is divided into two tracks, planning and project development. Consistent with Governor Lamont鈥檚 Executive Order No. 21-3, at least 40% of funding resources are targeted to where vulnerable populations reside and that those plans address the needs of those populations.

GZA has been helping businesses, utilities and communities in Connecticut become more resilient to climate change and extreme weather since 2010. 亚星游戏官网 developed the grant summary matrix table included in  in November 2020, and we are on the Resilient Infrastructure and Nature-based Solutions Working Group for the Governor's Council on Climate Change (GC3) in 2022. 亚星游戏官网 can help you determine your proposed project鈥檚 eligibility under the  criteria, and guide you on which types of projects are highly competitive for federal grants for future phases of planning, design, permitting and construction. 亚星游戏官网 look forward to the opportunity to support you through the grant application process and in building a more Resilient Connecticut.
